Introducing Reed Muse 3C's younger brother - Muse 2C. Accommodating a single tonearm and coming in friction drive version*, it also has some new features to offer.
What is inside of our turntable?
In Muse 2C we introduced a possibility to manually adjust turntable speed (along with preset 33 and 45 RPM options). Despite Muse 2C uses quartz-based phase locked loop (PLL) speed control system (also used in Muse 3C) and maintains perfect speed accuracy, sometimes there might be situations when minor speed adjustments are necessary, and now we are ready to help with that.
As well as Muse 3C, Muse 2C is powered by two direct current motors and to prevent possible mechanical vibration, we use traction rollers of different diameters, spinning at different velocities and having mathematically non-multiple diameters to driving disc diameter. Turntable drive is equipped with both mechanical and electronic protection systems.
Muse 2C uses a reverse sliding thrust ball bearing for a main axis. Bearing ball is made either from steel or ceramics and the lateral stability is achieved by using very durable and low-noise polymer sliding bearing. Symmetrical drive system is designed to avoid radial bearing load, hence minimizing possible mechanical noise and ensuring longevity of a master bearing.
And last but not least - having symmetrical design, Muse 2C can be placed by either side in front for your convenience.
